The day you took your life.

The day before you take your life

no one will know

Because you got good at hiding how you feel

You'll say your goodbyes to people who never cared to notice

The day you take your life

it'll be 3:05am and you will contemplate

But in the end the reasons to go are stronger than the

ones that there are to stay

The day after you take your life

Your mom will cry

and ask God "Why?"

Your sister will go to school because being strong

is better than being weak, she thinks

And she still won't know how to braid her hair

Because you never taught her

Your dad won't know because

he wasn't in your life

But when he does

He'll hate himself for being a part of your reasons

He'll cry for the years he missed

and will never get back

The day of your funeral

Everyone you know and love will be there

and they'll say how much of a light you were,

if only you felt that light inside.

If only you knew how many people loved you.

Maybe you'd still be here.
