Between paradise and us
there's a river—it's so wide
nobody can swim to the other side.
But there is hope, for the crossing
is not impossible: there are bridges.
Yes, there are bridges —lots of them—,
made to help us cross.
These bridges connect us with
the paradise, they unite us with God—
whatever "God" means for you.
Each bridge is
a view of God,
a set of rules and customs,
a set of ideas
and most are different.
But, even if they are different,
they only have one direction:
God.
So does it really matter
what bridge someone chooses
and tries to cross?
There is no such thing
as a "true" bridge,
so why fight to defend the idea
that one of them is?
Why **** people, burn them,
torture them, or do other horrible things
if every bridge is useful?
Why fight and discuss, angrily,
to try and impose your bridge
as "the only path to God"?
Bridges are a tool for uniting,
so why let them divide us?
