- In the Name of God -

What happens

when someone says they killed

because God whispered it into their bones,

because every swing of the blade

felt holy?

What if they were certain,

the way you are---

so certain,

that the blood on their hands glistened like scripture,

that every scream

sounded like prayer?

What if it was you---

standing there,

stained in red and righteousness,

believing you were called

to end me?

Does belief absolve the blood?
