Shaman Shaman

Shaman Shaman,

bury me

under a starlit sky

beside a sinless tree.

Commend my soul

to the vastness above,

bathe me, cleanse me,

lift me high on the wings of the dove.

Of my talents

and possessions I leave on earth,

scatter them, share them,

to bear witness of new birth.

If others must judge my worried past,

fill their hearts with love and kindness,

the gifts of the spirit

that hold true and fast.

And, to those for whom I have cared

that have gone before,

please have them stand ready

to open the door.
