To capture the smile
That the dancing daffodils bring
And feel the zeal
Of the magnolias raring to bloom
To embrace the touch of the gentle breeze
That whispers a song of love, and flees
With all that is cold in me
Setting my spirit free
To wash away the stains of my past
By showering in the white
Of the cherry blossoms
And paint a rainbow of tulips
On my canvas, now so bright
To record the melodies of my little friends
Restless with joy in the sky
And highlight the courage of tiny wings
Facing the fear to takeoff and fly
To portray the speckles of tender green
On the dry veins of the dead looking browns
And breathe in peace
For life takes form again
Even after we cease
I try to put my words together in vain
The more I try, the more I drain
For words feel so little
Compared to what I feel…
Then I find myself buzzing again
To do the work that must be done
Sparing not a moment to stay still
And let my heart, with this treasure refill
