WISDOM

A thought in the passing

settled like dirt on my threshold.

Why me?

What's my purpose?

Where am I headed?

Some questions are better left unanswered.

Still, I continue to suffer

for the lessons I have already learnt.

Even the softest melody

dissolves into static in my ears.

Like a pleasant breeze to a wrecked ship.

You can't just get your head around it.

It stays, unwelcomed, more or so uncherished.

I was better off—

in the dark.

If only I knew this light

would be blinding,

would I still be here?

If only you were in my shoes,

or would you tell me otherwise?

Wisdom is a boon as well as a curse.
