silly senses

with wine stained lips,

i say i no longer taste you

with ears ringing deaf

your voice is a memory fading

i can no longer hear you

with eyes red and runny

i see your face in photos,

a stranger with a smile i still love

but i can no longer see you

with a nose dry and red, ruined

i can barely recall the scent of you leaving the shower

the water sang for you, wrapped you in showers of gold

there is a faint trace of your hair after work, but

i can no longer smell you

with hands dry, cracked, and mine

i reach out for you daily

only to fall into myself, suffering without reward

because you cannot reach back

even if you wanted to

and i am so afraid you want to

because i can no longer feel you

you are mine, i am yours

but i cannot have you

so i choose to let go
