The Cost of Peace

I woke this morning

To grating screams

Screeches and squaling

You want out of your cage

I jump out of bed

Rush to your side

Grip the blanket

And cover the bars

With the same speed

I fall under my sheets

Cover my ears

I'll feed you tomorrow

The next sun rises

Peaceful silence

I love you, I swear I do

And-

I think you did too

I love my birds, but they get on my nerves sometimes. I guess this is my reminder to stay patient.
