Depression ( P.T.S.D.)

I laid there helpless, all alone,

My mind, confused, yet full.

Emptiness flowed through frozen veins,

Such a weight I couldn't pull.

This emptiness surrounded me

A vacuum in a shell,

Heaven only make believe,

Reality was hell.

Sorrow knocked upon my soul,

With me it would unite,

To trap within, my darkest days,

My memories of the night.

Morning called through tearful eyes,

Another day had arrived,

A day I prayed would never come,

Of any hope I was deprived.

But then, as if by, I know not,

You came into my life,

You listened, without judgement,

You knew my pain and strife.

I saw we were connected,

I knew that you would stay,

But my broken mind couldn't handle that,

And I pushed you far away.

So once again I'm lonely,

I believe I'm scared to share,

I believe I'm set to be this way

My mind won't let me care.
