I Wish I Could

I wish I could,

I wish I were as free as the ocean,

Be able to communicate each and every-emotion,

I wish I were better than who I am,

But I forgot about every problem and just ran.

I wish I could,

And still wish to,

Continue doing everything I start,

But can you really heal every broken heart?

I wish I could,

Feed everyone who's hungry,

Be there for those who don't have a buddy,

Give a roof to someone who doesn't have one,

Clothes for those who don't have the perfect fit.

I know this could sound cliché to those who-have all of these,

But you forget that there are people in the world who can't watch life like movies,

A little compassion won't hurt you,

A little empathy won't scrape your knees,

A little kindness won't destroy your day,

A little generosity won't **** your joy,

So do what you can for that little boy.

I started with myself,

Ended up on another,

There is an art, my friend, to these lines,

If only this could one day reach the headlines,

I would sway my head from side to side,

Thanking god for keeping humanity alive .
