Do you know?

“She hung herself

Because she wasn’t strong enough”.

But do you know how

Every day was a loosing battle with her own mind,

Screaming at the monsters,

Begging them to let go

As their cruel grip tightened with each shriek.

Do you know how

Bloodcurdling screams of rage from the past

Echoed in her restless mind

Every time she smiled for a picture,

Staining her innocence

And feeding her guilt.

Do you know how

She flinched each time a voice was raised

Because she was scared that one day

It will come back,

And she will be the prey.

Do you know how

She not only lifted up her own world,

But someone else’s too?

Someone who suffered far worse

So she had to put on a mask

To face her other half.

Do you know how

She chose to be trapped

In her unspoken truths

To save another life

That deserved to be helped,

Unlike her nothingness.

Do you know how

The pressure of it all

Tore her rusted heart apart

Yet she pushed through and through

Until there was a dark wall.

Do you know how

She died out of love

Because she promised

Forever and always

And she meant it.
