blood on the carpet

blood on the carpet

soaked and dry

say its just dirt

theyll never know why

theyll never hear all the shrieking screams

my barefoot on the pavement

chasing after forgotten dreams

ill never forget the aching groan of the wall

you forgot the next day

i dont think ill forget at all

i still hear the car speeding away

now there's blood on the pavement

and a stranger asking "are you ok? "

i start to laugh and smile

remembering i cant let them see

i walk back for a while

letting the darkness invade me

but you come back after me begging

suddenly everything's fine?

at least in your head

but never in mine

we finally got rid of the carpet

now the floor is pale and bare

but the blood on the carpet

its.

still.

there.
