tongue

strangers walk my tongue

and claimed it to be theirs

i speak of letters in opposite direction

of the ones i am to proudly inherit

my roots get lost in translation

or perhaps, just lost-

they have turned thin,

repeatedly unwatered

thoughts were corrupted,

when i should be turning to Him

for my limbs will speak for me-

my tongue bares witness
