Fault Lines

peak

peaks

peaks again,

a mountain rehearsing its own astonishment.

peek

pee--k

a keyhole widening

to let the future eavesdrop.

pique

p i q u e

a spark that refuses

to stay alphabetical.

All three collide:

a summit that looks back,

an eye that bristles,

a curiosity that climbs.
