The Heart That Gave It All

That love was mine, I was his love.

He asked for breaths, I did not take the last breath.

He asked for the heart, I placed it at his feet.

He played a big trick and took her.

The one I used to call mine was not mine.

I spent my time in a world where love was defeated by love.
