The Principle of Separation.

Despite the taste of success, the traveler is severed from the destination,

That is the doctrine of love: our separation written into the system.

What intoxication binds the moon to the sky,

Who will ever witness the moment of their separation?

With how much hope the sea returns again to the shore,

Unaware of which storm will enforce their separation.

Our meeting was a promise inscribed by destiny,

Our separation will invite the displeasure of God.

A sentence of death is sufficient for that soul,

Which is forced to separate from its body once again.

Heavy daggers strike the heart, Layla,

When among one’s own, grief causes separation from the self.
