Small Song for Milton

by Brody_Blue

When I am asked to mindfully provide A work I deem a paragon of Word, I first relent to he who light denied, Yet more of Mem’ry’s song than all has heard. For how can one who fell from Adam’s loin (Whose sole bequest unto the world was death), Ascend from Hell, then Hell to Heaven join, And close such distance with a single breath? I boldly thus declare before this crowd That all with ears to hear might be provoked: No song before his rang had rung so loud, Nor Muse has since been half as well invoked. Read for yourself! I rest assured you’ll praise What does itself itself support and raise.
