The Shaken Dream

The Shaken Dream

Are you, Are you, coming to the street?

Where they murdered a mother

Who gave birth to three?

Strange things did happen here

No stranger would it be

If we met at midnight

In the shaken dream

Are you, Are you, coming to the street?

Where ghosts gathered round,

The woman tried to flee

Strange things did happen here

No stranger would it be

If we met at midnight

in the shaken dream

Are you, Are you, coming to the street?

Where she gave up her life

So we could break free

Strange things did happen here,

No stranger would it be

If we met at midnight

In the shaken dream

Are you, Are you, coming to the street?

Bring a flower of hope

Side by side with me

Strange things did happen here,

No stranger would it be

If we met at midnight

In the shaken dream

Are you, Are you, coming to the street?

Where she melted the ice

So we could break free

Strange things did happen here,

No stranger would it be

If we met at midnight

In the shaken dream

Notes

This is a song based off of The Hanging Tree, composed by James Newton Howard for the Film of Songbirds And Snakes. I wrote it in honor of Renee Nicole Good, a woman who was murdered by ICE.
