off to dream-land

a star speckled skyline

lights up the ceiling

and the northern lights

ignite a ghostly glow

that flows gently

as the call of a sleeping child

whose bed met him

with the warm embrace

that kept him calling

until not even he

could deny

that dream-land

needed his presence

and the warmth of his joy
