Magic Friends

I see no faces nor eyes

Nor the tapering of the quill

No voices go through a page

Yet I hear you still

You may never rest your eyes on me

Nor hear me hum or sing

Yet you know my heart's melody

You know my heart's jingling

We gather words from the universe

We thread them and they grow

Into musings of poetry

As they curl and slant and flow

With you  I walk on pebbles

With you in fields of thoughts I run

Plucking 'silver apples of the moon

The golden apples of the sun'

And stars that twinkle in darkness

From lofty peaks on spruce trees

Smile and wink their starlight

On you and then on me

Sojourners on a journey

Through rain, snow or shine

Letting our lives lightly dance

As our paths intertwine

We meet within no countries

Yet we touch, love and mend

Hand in hand together

We are 'magic friends’
