january pathways

honey-drawn sun

sinks in pulsing flames

sunlight sky-woven

in winter’s muted lanes.

january pathways

patched in tatooed light….

leaves long forgotten

frozen in torn ice.

pine needles stirring

landscape white and stark

wind like a nettle

sense of closing dark.

close the ice-rose of winter

close the spellbound sea….

picture in my pocket

dream of you and me.
