Rich man ́s War

See the soldier with his Guns

Boldly marching off to war

Fighting for the rich and greedy

So that they can earn some more

Death and glory, honour, courage

This of you they do espy

Sitting in their golden castles

Smiling smugly as you die

Band of brothers, comrades, duty

are the bonds they place upon

young men dying in futility

for wars that never can be won

Hear the names that earn the dollars

playing on the fields of strife

They bear the names of politicians

who's actions served to start the fight

Meanwhile turn the cogs of war

Costing ever more and  more

for missiles, guns and ammunition

to feed these acts of gross Attrition

And if comes peace as they may call it

even though death still abounds

We'll engineer another Conflict

to raze a country to the ground

Feed the greed and fight the war

Do not question rich man's law

Take your gun and go to fight

for your God and what is right

The Rich they sit and fill their coffers

looking out for other offers

To scratch the itch of being rich

That never will subside

And so the wars continue on

The TV shows another one

where rich man's cannon fodder face

Death, in a foreign, faraway place

And so rules the mighty dollar

Wall street sends a rousing holler

to war as a means towards an end

and the rich man's dearest friend

Notes

These are the lyrics to a song that I wrote some years ago about the futility of war. I was a professional soldier for 14 years and I learned that there is no glory in war. We are indoctrinated and lied to - the Facts are bent to fit the official narrative and we are taught to believe what we are told.

As the Bombs fall this morning in Venezuela, Ukraine and Gaza I thought it fitting to post this.
