Companionate Love

by @ValentineVampires

Figuratively, I'm still yours, And kiss you and love you enough To trade you goodnights and good mornings Welcoming you home, Wondering when our next date is Feeding you, talking to you, annoying you Maybe I missed the way you used to love me Or maybe I've retreated to my egg That has softened the intense passion We shared, and even argued before Is this what it feels like to love When I don't have to worry anymore? All I know is that whenever I look at you, I feel a sense of safety in my heart Happy to see that it's you at the door With an inspiration to better myself Motivated to work together as a team To see an easier tomorrow for ourselves.
