In moderation

by zackripley

You've worked so hard to let love in And let hope win. And I'm so proud of you. But before you go, there's one last thing I want you to know. I know it may seem sacrilegious coming from me, but I think it's important that you keep in mind that as long as you have protections in place, it's okay to let the darkness win in moderation. Because pain, sadness, fear and shame are part of being human. They only become dangerous when we are encouraged to suppress and avoid them. But as long as safe people are one call away, and safe places are just around the river bend, you'll find the darkness doesn't have the power to drown the light at the end.
