In My Skin

I would devour every part of you Use your bones to pick your flesh from my teeth I’d eat your anxieties from the root to eat means to have once starved I’d carve affirmations in your chest before the finger licking begins “love is kind” “love is patient” scriptures you were never taught to read love is dripping crimson from my lips unholy as I empty every pore tearing through every layer of skin while crying like a grown child eating the man I love mourning with grief still warm in my mouth he’ll never know how it feels to live in my skin
