everlasting

by bambee

and if you find yourself collapsing,
i will gather every fallen piece of you
 and fit you back together,
rebuilding you as many times as it takes. i will kiss you at dusk,
 at the crack of dawn,
 and in the quiet places
you hide even from the mirror. and if one day the future comes
with time tugging at your memory,
 beckoning you to forget,
 i will gently remind you
of how we found our way here.

and slowly,

our bodies will nestle into the warmth

of the bed our love has woven for us—

familiar, lovely, everlasting.
