in ur arms

just one more taste-

it flickers at the edge of me,

or maybe inside me,

humming like neon under skin,

burning out, burning through

i feel the rush return-

the tiny universe detonating,

expanding in the back on my skull

the blood vessels in my cranium, blooming

stars where thoughts should be

dopamine extends her finger out,

lifts my chin gently,

kisses me light,

like she remembers the shape of joy

i swear i can still taste you on my lips

so i return here, again and again-

to the warm hue of memory

where everything glows wrong

and beautifully

where i reach-

and the high finds me first

where you find me,

every time
