Rescue

by @sherlene2

The wave crests It falls on me And I am adrift In a dark, raging sea Hoping for somebody To come on and rescue me Rescue me and give me hope Let love be my float Come rescue me I've lived my life I'm not lonely I like my own company But there are times In the middle of a dark night I don't want to be adrift Rescue me and give me hope Let your love be my float Come rescue me I am tired of carrying the weight Tired of mundane days I need someone nearby Someone to hold me when I cry Someone to listen when I sigh I don't want to be adrift Rescue me, anchor me Let love be the ship That comes to rescue me I'm reaching out For the lifesaver And then for a steady anchor I see you coming into view I'll know when it is you A love that will be true I've been waiting For you, for me, to be one Come rescue me Rescue, rescue Rescue me And I'll rescue you
