The Dark World

Ah, I'm drifting on this cold, dark gloomy world for centuries now

But I only have one friend, my one and only friend

It shines brighter than the sun, although I've long forgotten its warmth

The warmth it gives me reminds me of the past, the past of someone special

That person was always cheerful, always smiling at me everyday

We used to play together a lot, but it was something that happened a long time ago

I no longer linger for the past or have hopes for the future that awaits me

What I desire the most is to be able to see that smile once again

That smile would always save me each and every time we met

But I don't know if I will be able to escape this dreadful world

To find a way to escape, search for her, share stories and vanish like the wind

However, even if I desire to see that smile once again

I want to stay with her as long as possible because of these feelings

These feelings in my chest was what I kept hidden from her all these years

Although we made a promise to not keep secrets from one another

I know that I broke that promise because of my selfishness I had at that time

If we grew too close, she would of disappeared from me forever

So instead, I chose to disappear instead so she could live a peaceful life

A life that she and I would never of met each other

In a world where I don't exist, a world that's full of hope and light

What I regret the most was not being able to hear her answer

Before we were about to be seperated, I wasn't able to hear it

A question that I wanted to hear from her with her own mouth, with her own voice

Although, it's been years since then I really wanted to hear her reply

No matter what her answer may of been, I'll accept it because I loved her

As I continue to drift in this world, my friend still keeps me company

But it was soon losing its warmth and its beauty as I reached my hands at it

However, as I reached for it, it started to shine even brighter than before

Soon, I was in a world full of hope and light, a world without any loneliness

As I looked around the people started to disappear one after another

Soon I saw a girl crying by herself, so I walked up to her

As I got close enough she tilted her head up towards me

At that moment our lips met as tears continue to flow down from her eyes

Then I realized who she was, she steped back and smiled back at me with watery eyes

I felt happy for the first time in an long time as we said our "Hellos" to each other

We started to walk forward towards the path that we saw in front of us sharing our stories

As a part of me started to disappear, she suddenly had a worried face

However, I told her that I still had some time left before going

As we continued to share stories, regardless if it was old or new

We were making memories for ourselves with the remaining time we spent together

But I knew my time was depleting as the day went by

When we came to a stop, we were at the beach where the breeze felt great

We stopped sharing stories and started exchanging questions and answers

As time went by realized she didn't ask anymore as she saw my body, I held her hand

As I reached my head over to her shoulders, I asked one final question

She quickly replied to my question and then I finally got to hear her answer

Soon my body started to fade away and disappear into thin air

As I was fading, she still had that smile on her face

In return I promised to her that we will meet again someday once again

May it be years from now, I want you to know that my heart only beats for you, and no one else
