How beautiful you are

Not in the shimmer of silver or gold, Nor in the tales the mirrors have told, But in the silence between your sighs, Where truth is born and nothing dies. How beautiful you are, unseen, In kindness given, soft and keen. The world may miss what eyes can’t trace, Yet still, you light the darkest place. Not in the lines that time may draw, But in the courage to stand in awe Of pain you’ve held, of love you give, Of all the ways you choose to live. How beautiful you are, within, Where laughter lingers, deep and thin. Where dreams refuse to fade or part, And every scar reveals your heart. No need for polish, paint, or praise, You shine in quiet, unseen ways. So if you ask what beauty means, It’s you, beyond the in-betweens.
