her strength

a rare defiance is carved into the marrow of her bones weathered by the beating years yet unbroken as stone ancient melodies tangled in her evergreen hair whisper of long-forgotten skies and storms she learned to bear though seasons try to claim her with decay and brittle breath roots of mountain blood run deep unyielding even to death
