I can’t love another as I loved you
It isn’t unwillingness,
just completion
I’ve lived inside this love,
given and received enough to call it whole

You’ll be my last,
not by loss but by rightness,
the right person to end it well

I know I hurt you
Yet you gave me moments bright enough
to outlast regret
I keep them untouched,
as I keep you,
unreplaced

If time allows,
may we meet again
where both our lives have settled
Until then,
thank you for the light
you left in my dim hours
