I lay in your arms on a
Vacant bed of Poppies
Watching a midnight blue sky
As ancient ferns opened curtains wide

Cathedral upon cathedral
Passed before our vision
Each belled more splendid than the next

Slave doors were but half opened
We saw arches being lifted
Marx and Brecht nodding in agreement
We turned and rested in "I AM"

The poppies faded
Their red turning to blood
Black centres becoming
AFRIKA !
