Painful Whatifs

He told me he loved me

As you took your last breath

Maybe if I loved you

You wouldn't have left

You wouldn't be dead

But that's a silly thing to say

Because it wouldn't make a difference

I wouldn't be able

to fix that voice in your head

Couldn't tear down your defense

Before things started spiralin'

Maybe if we could have fixed...
