A friend once told me
I know you want to appear strong
I questioned his choice of words
To appear
As if Iam hiding my tears
All my life I am part of a play
Playing roles depending on the
day
As my role changes I become
a singer
Be attentive to my song
I often rhyme about the desire
to belong
To love yourself after your
fall
not in substances or alcohol,
shrinking walls or six missed calls
To love in
the acceptance of remorse
Ask forgiveness behind
closed doors
To fall beyond your original course
Your community, family or house
Perhaps it's time for a
divorce
To encounter a class beyond
Something better, cleaner, free'er
When to belong was a
wish denied
Don't let your mind be occupied
Love yourself in your
fall
Have grace and cheer
Someone has to lift you up my dear
You're not defined you're a moving
force
With strength and momentum
This change is your new anthem
Explore the whole spectrum
Strength is being fearless of the
worst
You played different roles
You bounce back with the love in
your core
It doesn't matter what life shows
Our attitude we have in control
When you are strong
Also appear like
you're still young
As if a lot has to be done
To love the child within
isn't a job for an anyone
