Made of Chaff

By Folorunsho Obalugemo

Leaders wey for high energy

cost and constant darkness

leave people for collapsing grid

run go mount solar for dem palace

Leaders wey dey go come

inside plane and chopper

for bad roads and robbers

plus bandits tell us to endure

Leaders wey dey say my people

tighten una belt well well

get *** béllè up dem baggy

in yeye rolling saggy saggy

Leaders wey dey say it takes

time before enjoyment dey land

dey lavish life like bees

in the face of poverty and pain

Leaders wey small matter

dey take dem to Oyinbo hospital

leave dem people in dire state

until dem land for mortuary

Leaders wey dem own pikin

dey read book for overseas

care little about us, even if

millions no go school

Leaders wey commot subsidy

dey borrow loan, increase fees

exchanging eyesight with stick

leveling big taxes day by day
