For the hungry and beloved

My heart was made for breaking Like soft warm bread, One piece for the living and one for the dead And one for the sun in the sky up above How many times must I fall in love? One for the mum who I met in the street And one for the snake that lies at my feet One for each morning and one for each night And the rest for the ones who forgot how to fight
