I was walking through a forest once, A forest full of birds and trees. They whispered to me fragments of myself That I forgot while walking through life But regained only through dreams.
Now my dreams seem to betray me, They come as little as they please. I sleep at dusk, at dawn, and through screams But they never seem to come anymore And do as they please.
I was walking on a beach once, A beach full of castles and crease. The ocean came and touched my feet, Reminding me of touch that left me Broken and shattered as they pleased.
Now the ocean only seems to give me a tan And not the memories of those I please. I dig my feet in them and feel the sand in between. They too seem to move away when the ocean comes, They too seem to do as they please.
So now I walk the journey of self, Discovering myself as I please. But the thoughts never seem to leave me, And at night when the moon sings, I find myself whispering to the dark, Not for sleep, not for peace, But for you, to come back, in pleas.
