Learn how to manage your balance,
you'll never know if it's your last chance.
Don't think too much about what others say,
or you'll be left debating whether you give people dismay.

You try too hard, you'll be left strained.
You try your best, someone got the same score for trying less.
Your try not so much, your grades will be pained.
Learn to give what you can, or you'll be a mess.

Don't let others fuss about your mistakes,
it's just as bad as listening to snakes.
People only see your blunders and flaws,
so make them see you shine and watch them applause.

Remember, just don't be too vain,
I know being proud is good.
But you'll truly just be a pain.
So ignore the cynics, and lift up your mood.

Being yourself is already enough,
your doing this for yourself, so don't be too rough.
Not everyone gets achievements at this young,
were just a part of the crowd, surviving among.
The title "One-way mirror" holds 2 meanings.
1.) It shows that you should look what's behind the mirror (your true self), and not just your reflection.

2.) It also signifies that people only see the reflection (mistakes)  and not what's behind the mirror (achievements).

This poem was for my English assignment and I really liked it so I thought that it would be better if I posted it :)

ps: English isn't my first language.
