When I'm 10,
I'll be the bravest and smartest
The kindest and most fun
Everyone will love me then.

By the time I'm 15,
I'll be more confident
I'll be able to speak my mind
I'll beable to say no
Just wait and see

By 20,
I won't have this hole in my chest
Forget the trauma
Forget the rest.
I'll finally be free.

When I'm 25,
If I get to 25,
Maybe each day won't be
Quite so hard.

I'm 28 now.
About to be 29.
Soon I'll be 30.
Each year,
Each milestone is a reminder you're gone.
Left behind, but never forgotten.
The hope persists,
A little quieter,
A little smaller.
But its still there.
I just need to get to 30.
