Art of Forgetting
Tendrils of the past we shared
scribbled in lines and curves;
a fluorescent mess
of highlighter pigments
with blots of watery ink
Laid out in the scorching sun
like cheap art on copy paper
done with kid’s markers,
drying and slowly fading
'til fully baked and bleached
