I stopped at a patch of flowers
on the way to your house
as the sun light reflected off of the morning dew
I liked the symmetry of the petals
they were beautiful but even if they had hands
they couldn't hold a candle to you
I watch the sun make its climb
past the cluster of clouds
in the Carolina blue sky
I hope you are looking up
because you make me feel that high
and every second with you
is an hours worth of time
I started down your driveway
and could see you through the window
you came out of your door running
We spun in circles like children
just like it's been weeks
since we've seen each other
