A Dream I've Had Lately

I’m sitting at a table on a balcony

covered with fairy lights,

next to a dark-haired girl

with white teeth framed by red lips.

We’re drinking wine and giggling

as the alcohol numbs us.

We keep asking each other,

which one of us is going to drive?

But we laugh off the issue

and pour ourselves another glass.
