Slap on that smile,
close the front door
And think to yourself,
just what is it all for
Saying good morning to the usual crowd
And then thinking,
Is it really something to say
Especially out loud
Because deep down you know it is a lie
As dressed smart for work
Smart shoes, shiny cufflinks and a tie
But these are life's misgivings
This usual, monotonous, daily grind
Because,
deep down,
you'd love to just say,
** you
And then leave it all behind
