As I lay my love
To rest upon my shoulder
I see a silhouette
Of when he is much older

Without a shadow of a doubt
I know he’ll suffer here throughout
And as for me, I’ll be in pain
Until the day that I’m without

I turn to him and say
“How can we live this way?”
He turned to me and said
“Just **** me instead”

And at his own behest
I lay my love to rest
Upon his ultimate beholder
