I don't know what drives the flame
From years ago, it feels the same

From my mind to my actions
I look and see all the transactions
it is all derived from the same factions

I feel as if I'm the one to blame
Even though I'm told not to claim

I don't know what drives the flame
From years ago, it feels the same

Everything that has been uttered
Leaves me in the dark to only mutter
Talking with your insolence, you never stutter

I've tried helplessly to bury
What has been often so scary

I don't know what drives the flame
From years ago, it feels the same

When I think we've come so far
Everything seems to be, just under par
I will always wait, with my door ajar

Forever I will always wonder and wait
Hoping that our time is not too late

I don't know what drives the flame
From years ago, it feels the same
