Does being humane
And being a human the same thing?
Can we guarantee morality
Are we more rational than animals
Or plain cruel and conniving
Never have I ever heard
A conspiracy involving beasts
Always an accident and never a crime
Then why do we cage them
And let killers, rapists, pedophiles roam
Why are mice and rabbits test subjects
When we have enough humans deserving
Is it not a privilege
To be guilty and stay free meanwhile
They barely survive behind bars
We don't deserve them
They are worth more than anyone
Failed to acknowledge
Their vulnerability keeping them at loss
With our inability to redeem them
Humanity remains a lost cause
