of broken hearts and midnight dreams

by @guy-scutellaro

loons on the lake thier tremolos, violins in the stillness after the rain.... in the place you only dream of where love begins, in broken hearts and midnight dreams, (i dream a flower and you place it in my hand.) the sky above. our laughter carries through the trees. the wind in your hair. you in my arms. your eyes as blue as the sky when you smile to me. (I dream the rose you have placed in my heart.) you played a savage trick on my broken heart, tenderness and love. what do you see in my ruins that I cannot? the candle flickering beneath, the fumbling raven on the the edge of a lullaby? when you gaze into my midnight dreams do you see yourself wandering, too? the riddles dancing from the mist revealed... hold my love, wander through my midnight skies feel my love that was asleep in my midnight eyes.
