In almost every pantheon,
The Sun God is both the highest
And the most worshipped deity.
Bringing to the world life and light,
Along with illumination and wisdom.

It only makes sense then,
That as the light of my life,
You would be the Sun Goddess
In the faith system that is our love,
And I would worship you and you alone.

Just as the sun rises,
My heart does the same.
With every lingering glance, I flutter.
With every soft smile, I fly.
With every touch, I soar.

With every moment of hope, I rise,
Ever closer to my sun, my Goddess,
Ever aware that my frail wings
Made of optimism and wax
Will melt if I get too close.

But I don’t worry about the fire,
Or the fall that will surely follow,
Because for the first time in my life,
You gave me something beautiful,
Something worth burning for.

And should I combust when I get close,
I will fall back to earth with a smile,
Euphoric from the sunshine of your love,
And even my smouldering, wingless form
Will still worship at your feet.
For Felicity. Always.
