I chose you

by I-Earth

You didn’t ask him for a throne, Or beg to never be alone. Love, when true, won’t need a claim, Or guilt wrapped up and called your name. He chose—but not to set you free, Not love, if it comes conditionally. You’re not a favor, not a chore— You’re worth a love that asks no more.
